為什麼選擇I2S?
I2S(Inter-IC Sound Bus)是飛利浦公司為數字音頻設備之間的音頻數據傳輸而制定的一種總線標準。在飛利浦公司的I2S標準中,既規定了硬件接口規範,也規定了數字音頻數據的格式。

I2S有3個主要信號:

 

  • 串行時鐘SCLK,也叫位時鐘(BCLK),即對應數字音頻的每一位數據,SCLK都有1個脈衝。SCLK的頻率=2×採樣頻率×採樣位數
  • 幀時鐘LRCK,用於切換左右聲道的數據。LRCK為「1」表示正在傳輸的是左聲道的數據,為「0」則表示正在傳輸的是右聲道的數據。LRCK的頻率等於採樣頻率。
  • 串行數據SDATA,就是用二進制補碼表示的音頻數據。

店主為什麼選擇碳纖維模板?
碳纖維模板是一種含碳量在95%以上的高強度,高模量纖維的新型纖維材料。它是由片狀石墨微晶等有機纖維沿纖維軸向方向堆砌而成,經碳化及石墨化處理而得到的微晶石墨材料。碳纖維外柔內剛,質量比金屬鋁輕,但強度卻高於鋼鐵,並且具有耐腐蝕,高模量的特性,在國防軍工重要材料。它不僅具有碳材料的固有本徵特性,電磁屏蔽性好。

當店主從AfterDark. audiophileCAS DTD 的 PCB 上拉出 I2S,自然而然地,就試著接上 ES9022,變成 I2S 直入 DAC 的組態,跳過了 WM8804 這一層。I2S 直入的聲音,非常優秀,明顯好過經 SPDIF 與 WM8804。最顯著的差異是細節與微動態,直入的聲音,在較小的音量小,仍然能保持相當豐富的細節,更為細膩清晰,直有撥雲見日之感。

PCM5102A內部PLL時鐘
訊號輸入是I2S,PCM5102A可以不用外部SCK輸入,自己會參照BCK去產生

Audio Test Review:
Let talk about why we have such a product for AfterDark. This product itself is quite innovative, AfterDark. is trying to do something in different approach. The shop owner knows there is a lot of raspberry pi compatible board product to provide DAC solution. However, they are just fine with simple hardware implementation and all in one box design.

AfterDark. have some innovative approaches for I2S DAC for Raspberry which audiophile can ensure their I2S DAC is in excellent sound performance:
  • Reduce EMI interference by separate I2S DAC away from the raspberry pi. It is because the owner believed that it is always a good idea to separate audio module, power module and avoid EMI from the high frequency of CPU processor.  
  • Try to minimize the jitter by using high quality industry grade internal clock,silver plated I2S cables and optimize all the circuit path as short as possible.
  • Build an external DC plug with 5V linear power supplies for I2S DAC, the owner believe the power quality is extreme important to digital signal and sound quality.
  • Try to reduce the interference on I2S DAC with better shielding material on Carbon Fiber Shielding (CFS) cables and 3mm thick Carbon Fiber Board on top layer of DAC and apply KEMET's EMI Absorber on DAC Chips.
  • Try to build an excellent output stage for Hi-Res Audio using industrial quality components.
  • Increase the shock stabilization on I2S DAC.  Special absorber material is applied under the large heavy mass of aluminum metal to ensure audiophile RCA plug and cable have rigid support.
